9/17/2023 0 Comments Nissan sd25 engine manualThe SD-22 mounts the filter more-or-less vertically (back to Day One), whereas the 33 is horizontal so whether the neither the filter elements are are in fact and indeed identical is a Jesco thing. I have a very old "Nissan Diesel SD-22 & SD-33" service manual, and both the 22 and the 33 look to have the same cannister filter. Whether the screw-on cartridge used in overseas SD-33 crossreferences to anything we have I plain ol' don't know, though Himself does and would perhaps deign to share.Ģ. I think the number was PH 2850, Fram (sorry, I didn't know better.) Whatever that filter number is, it is a standard off-the-shelf item.īUT: it is real itty-bitty, so I used the larger filter spec'd for the LD-28 diesel used in Datsun "810/810-Maxima" cars from the '81-'82 period-apples/apples filter, just bigger volume. Look under "Nissan" and "Datsun" both 'cause "Datsun" morphed into "Nissan" in '83, which is also the year the SD-25 became standard diesel (I've seen exactly one in this country). The 1981 and '82 Datsun 720 pickups I had used a "sanitized" version of the SD-22 with a screw-on cartridge type oil filter the number escapes me, but you can look it up easily enough in the filter catalog at a typical AP store.
